WHAT TO EXPECT:

FIRST. What is rug tufting? Rug tufting is a modern spin on traditional rug making. With the support of a “tufting machine” yarn is punched through the back of fabric to create “tufts” of yarn that become the front side of your rug. TuftxPVD classes are absolutely beginner friendly!

  • Expect a little arm and wrist workout. The tufting machine is about 2 or so lbs. You’ll be holding and rotating it while it vibrates throughout your project.

  • Expect a short demo by a local artist and fiber lover, at the beginning of the workshop that will showcase basic handling techniques of the machine.

  • Expect your image and frame to be prepped and ready to go at the start of class. Ticket purchase is for ONE person on ONE frame.

  • Your local artist will lead and be available throughout the entire tufting process.

  • Class will provide all the “tips and tricks” on how you can start tufting on your own + source for future project materials.

  • Class sizes ensure 1 on 1 support

  • Creativity is HIGHLY encouraged!

  • This is a START to Finish class. expect to leave with your rug same day!
