WHAT TO EXPECT:
FIRST. What is rug tufting? Rug tufting is a modern spin on traditional rug making. With the support of a “tufting machine” yarn is punched through the back of fabric to create “tufts” of yarn that become the front side of your rug. TuftxPVD classes are absolutely beginner friendly!
Expect a little arm and wrist workout. The tufting machine is about 2 or so lbs. You’ll be holding and rotating it while it vibrates throughout your project.
Expect a short demo by a local artist and fiber lover, at the beginning of the workshop that will showcase basic handling techniques of the machine.
Expect your image and frame to be prepped and ready to go at the start of class. Ticket purchase is for ONE person on ONE frame.
Your local artist will lead and be available throughout the entire tufting process.
Class will provide all the “tips and tricks” on how you can start tufting on your own + source for future project materials.
